Bangkok--1 Sep--Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas After four days of fun festivities and elephant polo, including sixteen teams from all over the world featuring Thai supermodels, New Zealand All Black rugby players and the Tiffany Show Pattaya, the final day offered plenty of memorable moments and new King’s Cup champions. The final match placed two stellar teams - Audemars Piguet with King Power Duty Free - in a closely fought battle for the 13th King’s Cup Elephant Polo Final. Audemars Piguet’s talented Kalaan brothers, Uday and Angad, along with Marc Williams, and King Power captained by Tom Claytor with Nattapong Pratumlee and Satid Wongkraso going head to head in a thrilling final penalty shootout. The highly anticipated final was presided over by the King of Thailand’s Royal representative, H.E. Privy Councilor, Rear Admiral, Mom Luang Usni Pramoj. A penalty shootout did not yield a final score so a ‘sudden death’ play-off determined the winner. King Power’s Satid Wongkraso scored the final winning shot and clinched the Cup for King Power in 2014. The exciting event has not only been about fun and games – a generous sum of THB4.5 million was raised for various elephant charity projects bringing a total sum raised to US$900,000 (BHT 28.7 million) Final Leaderboard for 2013 King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament: 1.
