SEC orders EIC to cooperate with auditor and rectify financial statements for 2014 and 2015

Stocks News Tuesday May 24, 2016 17:07 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--24 May--SEC The SEC has ordered Electronics Industry Public Company Limited (EIC) to submit the annual financial statements for the year 2014, the quarterly financial statements for the first, second and third quarters of 2015, and the annual financial statements for the year 2015, which have all been audited and reviewed, and disclose such information to the public without delay. According to the auditor's report, accounting policies were improperly used in the annual financial statements for the year 2014, whereby Smart Traffic Co., Ltd., an EIC affiliate, failed to record allowance for doubtful accounts for the overdue loans issued to company director(s) without collateral in 2013. As to the 2015 annual financial statements, EIC executives failed to assess and update the fair price for the investment fund allocated to two affiliates – Sport Event International Inc. and Global Legend Series Ltd. Services Ltd. – even though there had been an indication that the value of the investment fund would depreciate. Therefore, the SEC instructed EIC to submit the financial statements for the five said accounting periods, which have been audited and reviewed by its auditor, and disclose such information publicly and promptly because financial statements are material information for investors and shareholders to make well-informed investment decisions and monitor company operation.
