Bangkok--12 Nov--MQDC - MQDC cares about nature under its philosophy "For All Well-Being" and supported "Eco-Young Camp" to nurture environmental awareness among childhood so that it can flourish into a large force to create sustainability in Thailand in the future. - "Eco-Young Camp" is a gathering of young people who want to systematically conserve the environment. Activities covered 4 areas: learning, doing, creating, and sharing. The event was held recently at Sattahip Water Sport Academy, Sattahip District, Chonburi. 11 November 2019, Chonburi - Mr. Wakin Thangkulawat, Senior Vice President of Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), one of the leading property developers in Thailand, said: "The environment is now a global challenge that requires cooperation from many organizations. MQDC operates under a 'For All Well-Being' philosophy and is committed to creating well-being not only for humankind but for all living beings in the world. "We also believe that the principles of sustainable development must lay the foundation among the young generation. If we spark ideas, give information and insights, and show how to plan environmental preservation, these things will be deeply imprinted in the mind, becoming seeds that are ready to germinate, bringing lasting change to society and the environment. MQDC is happy therefore to be a part of driving the camp for young conservationists. It is an honor to share knowledge with children about marine waste management and increasing the value of coastal waste through making plant pots from marine waste," said Mr. Wakin Ms. Jareerat Petsom, a founder of the Eco-Young Camp project, said: "The camp is a gathering of 15 young people who were selected from short video clips they sent, telling about their intention to conserve nature. Throughout the 3 days and 2 nights, the children learned and practiced through 4 activities: 1. Learning, to understand about natural resources and environment; 2. Doing, through the 5 senses to enable the best results; 3. Creating, by presenting ideas that can be adapted; and 4. Sharing, by training to pass on ideas and inspiration to other kids, turning beach waste in useful items. "In addition, we were honored by many invited speakers, such as Khun Naiyana Tuaynark and a team from the Buddharaksa Foundation that brought the Art4worth project, using art to give life to containers from sea waste. Dr. Wayne Phillips from Mahidol University came to inform us about micro plastics. Mr. Kanin Kaewin came from the Blue Carbon Society. Ms. Amara Wichithong, a conservationist and former Thai national team athlete, also attended. Mr. Ball - Anuchai Sukharom, leader of the Baan Amphor beach conservation from Sattahip Water Sport Academy, took part. Executives participated from Shell Hut Entertainment, with cute cartoon characters like Shelldon. Villagers from the neighborhood community came to share ideas and pass on inspiration. This project is a prototype that can be adapted to develop people in other areas, providing another channel for spreading important information on environmental management. We start by using waste to create value to teach all children to be concerned about the small things, creating responsibility about the systematic preservation of the environment," said Ms. Petsom. "MQDC is planning a development in Pattaya. We aim to join with the surrounding communities to organize camp activities for young people at our project to give knowledge, create understanding, take action, and spread the concept of environmental sustainability because we believe that creating a natural balance requires collaboration from many parties to provide a role model for society," said Mr. Wakin.
