Government’s Net Revenue Collection: The First 7 months of Fiscal Year 2018

Ms. Kulaya Tantitemit, Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance’s Spokesman stated that the government’s net revenue collection in the first 7 months of fiscal year 2018 (October 2017 – April 2018) was 1,293,908 million baht, 60,598 million baht or 4.9% above the target and 4.9% higher than the same period last year, This was mainly due to remittances from state-owned enterprises and revenue collection from other agencies exceeding the targets by 30,444 and 23,133 million baht, or 36.8% and 21.5%, respectively. Moreover, the collection of petroleum tax, tobacco tax and corporate income tax were significantly above the targets.

Ms. Kulaya concluded that, “revenue collection in the first 7 months of fiscal year 2018 remains on target. For the rest of this fiscal year, the Ministry of Finance will closely monitor the revenue collection in order to achieve the revenue target.”
