Many leading firms from well-known brands are ready to present their cutting-edge digital and post-press technologies for local and Asean printing and packaging industries. About 7,000 visitors including over 1,000 from Asean industries are anticipated at the fair, which organized by Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association. The event will be held during 24-27 September, 2014 at Bitec Hall 103-104. Mr. Chaiwat Hansomwong, President of the Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association, said the “GASMA PRINT 2014” is an essential platform to showcase printing technologies and supplies. This third edition of GASMA PRINT will be staged during 24-27 September 2014 at Bitec Hall 103-104. The organizer, the Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association, aims to make this event a regional Asean fair to support the integration under the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. The GASMA PRINT 2014 is poised to help drive Thailand towards becoming the ASEAN’s hup of printing technologies and supplies, so the association organized roadshows to invite entrepreneurs from printing industries in neighboring countries such as Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia to visit the fair. The roadshows were well accepted by partners in those countries. Mr. Chaiwat said the organizer expects a total of over 7,000 domestic and international visitors to the fair, around 1,000 of them are international visitors including 500 from Asean countries such as Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. There will also have the Business Matching and activities to welcome businessmen from related industrial association such as the Myanmar Printing and Publishers Association (MPPA). The association has received full support from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau ((TCEB) in inviting foreign visitors to the fair through the projects “Connect Business” and “Be My Guest”, that will help facilitate the accommodation to foreign visitors. The “GASMA PRINT 2014” will be held under “ASEAN Borderless Solutions” to offer business solutions for the borderless printing industries in the region and to prepare for the AEC in the end of 2015. The objective of organizing the event is to create business opportunity and negotiation forum among manufacturers and distributors as well as providing alternative opportunities of business expansion to entrepreneurs in different segments of printing industries. This will be the mechanism to upgrade Thailand as the regional hub of printing materials, equipment and technologies. For the edition in this year, there are many leading companies from international-recognized brands participate to display their products and services. With the improved economic sentiment in the second half of the year, many companies have planned to launch new products at the fair, with the target to stimulate the market in the second half and directly reach out to their potential customers. The association has foreseen bright business outlook for Thai printing and packaging industries in the second half of the year. With the approaching of the larger market under the AEC, this event will open opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to invest or expand the business in the future. Mr. Chaiwat added that the overall printing materials in Thailand is worth approximately 50 billion baht, classified into materials used in printing businesses, packaging and materials for other industries such as electronics, ceramic, textile. There are around 800-1,000 manufacturers and suppliers in the industries in Thailand. “The ‘GASMA PRINT 2014’ is also the platform for Thai printing materials firms, who are members of the Thai Graphic Arts Suppliers & Manufacturers Trade Association, to explore the opportunities for business connection, market expansion to neighboring Asean countries that will result in the strengthening of their businesses. This platform will certainly help the association’s small and medium-sized members who accounted for 70% of the 110 members and have combined sale 10-20 billion baht.” The overall Thai printing industry has the value of approximately 350 billion baht, accounted to around 3.5% of the country’s GDP but it has the business growth of around 1.5-2 times of the GDP growth. There are about 50 billion baht of direct export of printed materials and packaging and indirect export through the export of goods of around 300 billion baht. “The interesting of ‘GASMA PRINT 2014’ is the opportunity to meet leading printing firms and traders of quality printing materials, view the demonstration of latest technologies that will be unveiled for outstanding presentation and real printing work for the first time at the fair. There will also have the comprehensive printing and packaging production process, consultation with experts, vibrant technologies, digital printing and modern post press technologies from leading firms. The fair will also open the window of opportunities for business and trade negotiation with partners in Asean. Mr. Chaiwat concluded that the “GASMA PRINT 2014” will be the forum to bring the success to Thai printing and traders of printing supplies which are small and medium enterprises and a stepping stone for Thailand to become the hub of printing supplies trading and printing technologies in Asian.
