General News Tuesday September 30, 2014 16:36 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--30 Sep--Wishbeer Wishbeer recently took home the title of Thailand’s Most Promising Startup, beating stiff competition at the Echelon Awards 2014, which recognize the region’s most original online entrepreneurs and e-commerce start-ups. The “Most Promising Startup” is a highly prestigious award to win, especially as there’s now so much competition from online organizations around the country. But Echelon’s judges were swayed by the way that Wishbeer had seen a genuine gap in the market, creatively implemented a user-friendly business model and quickly built a loyal and growing customer base among the beer-loving Thai and expat community. Wishbeer home-delivery service now offers 500 different bottled and canned lagers, ales and stouts, and speedily sends them direct to customers’ doorsteps, even in rural areas of the country. There are many expats in Thailand who miss the taste of their favourite beverages, and increasing numbers of ale-loving locals who want a wider variety of beers to enjoy at home without having to visit over-priced bars and trendy restaurants in the city. Wishbeer meets customer needs by offering express same-day service in Bangkok and delivery within three days throughout the rest of Thailand. Echelon Thailand 2014, was held on 18-19 September, at Chulalongkorn University's Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, and the prestigious judging panel included Jeffrey Paine, Founding Partner of Golden Gate Ventures and Adrian Vanzyl, CEO of Ardent Capital as well as other well-known online entrepreneurs. Echelon’s ultimate aim is to foster innovation in Asia’s online community by connecting emerging internet-based businesses with the investors and companies who can help them succeed. Clearly pleased at his win, Wishbeer’s founder, French national Jerome Le Louer said, “It was a great honour to receive this award. It is validation of all the hard work me and my team have put in since we started the company a year and a half ago. In our hearts we knew we had a great business plan and that there was a love of great quality beer in Thailand, so it’s wonderful to see that our customers share our passion. We research and distribute a huge range of international ales and lagers, but believe it is our service ethos that makes us stand out: premium beers provided via a premium service is the philosophy Wishbeer is built upon.” Jerome started Wishbeer not merely as a way of sharing and introducing some of the world’s best beers to Thailand, but also as a challenge to start a new business, meet new people and learn about more about e-commerce. After a year of hard work things are really looking up for Wishbeer. The company continues to add to its product range all the time and hopes to expand its delivery services to other countries in Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia and the Philippines over the next few years. It’s something that all beer lovers should embrace – real ale and genuine award-winning service. For more information about Wishbeer and its products, please visit: www.wishbeer.com
