Martin Palleros, the design visionary behind some of Asia's most refined luxury landmarks, has been engaged to create The Residences at MontAzure – 73 contemporary tropical beachfront residences located in Phuket's most prestigious west coast address on Kamala beach.
The Residences at MontAzure represent one of the first phases in the unique, master planned MontAzure resort residential community, which covers some 450 rai (178 acres, 72 Hectares) of spectacular hillside to beachfront terrain close to Phuket's famed 'Millionaire's Mile'.
The full vision for the development includes an international anchor hotel, ultra luxury private estates, beach facilities, an upscale lifestyle and retail centre, medical wellness spa and protected forest nature reserve, all underpinned by a finely honed ecological sensitivity, a sustainable mindset and a commitment to art on a grand scale.

For The Residences at MontAzure, Palleros was given a grand of stage on which to display his architectural prowess. The surrounding land sprawls from mountain to oceanside, from babbling brook to murmuring surf, with rows of casuarina pines dappling shade on 99-metres of pristine sands that front what will be one of Phuket's only true beachside residential developments.
"What makes this project unique and different from other projects on the island is that both the architecture and the landscape architecture were carefully considered and fully integrated from the initial conceptual idea to create a unique response to this beautiful site, "explained Palleros." The aim was to create a unrivalled contemporary resort experience, and we therefore put a lot of effort into selecting the perfect materials."
"The timber cladding for the buildings, the use of raw concrete and the careful selection and integration of plants and trees throughout the development all enhances the site to create this unique experience.The treated pine we use on the wooden trim and decking, for example, turns a beautiful silver colour as it ages, which will complement the colour of the pine needles in the existing casuarina trees."
Thanks to this integrated design approach, The Residences at MontAzure will offer residents and guests living spaces that provide rare harmony with the stunning oceanside surroundings. It's a skill that Palleros and his team at Tierra Design developed when working on other resort landmarks like Phuket's Twin Palms and Baan Yamu, as well as a stunning private luxury residence called Villa Mayavee located on a nearby headland.
