THAI arranges “Young Pilot Summer Camp”

Bangkok--28 Jul--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) is offering children and young adults an opportunity to attend a one-day "Youth Pilot Summer Camp," consisting of instruction and training in THAI's flight simulator on 7 August 2015. Squaden Leader Sathaporn Charoensiri, THAI Executive Vice President of Operations Department, said this is the first time for the Operations Department to conduct sucha program. The "Young Pilot Summer Camp" will be held on 7 August 2015 and is open for 70 persons, ages between 10-23. The camp aims to let young people enjoy flying experiences, to emphasize learning outside the classroom and to inspire young children. The activity provides opportunities for primary training in flight, training in emergency situations and training to control the aircraft in Flight Simulators of Boeing 747-400, Boeing 737-400, Airbus 380-800, Airbus 330-300, Airbus 340-500/600 and Airbus300-600. There will also be educational flight games to win prizes. Fees for individuals between 10-17 years old is 2,900 baht, and for individuals between 18-23 years old is 3,900 baht. The entire training will be supervised closely by a THAI captain. Participants will receivea "Young Pilot Summer Camp" T-shirt to wear during the training and will be issueda certificate and a pilot wing pin upon completion.
