Bangkok--23 Mar--ABM Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., unveiled appealing features of its advanced intelligent powertrain i-DTEC DIESEL TURBO Engine for the first time in Thailand integrated with 9-speed automatic transmission in the 'All-new, fifth-generation Honda CR-V' with a sport premium design that will be launched in Thailand on March 24, 2017. The 1.6L i-DTEC 4-cylinder DIESEL TURBO Engine was developed under Honda's Earth Dreams technology. The maximum power of 160hp at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 350 Newton-meters at 2,000 rpm is equivalent to a large-size diesel engine with exceptionally high fuel efficiency of 18.9 Km/L. Working together with 9-speed automatic transmission provides superior acceleration and fuel efficiency with CO2 emission rate at only 141 g/km. The All-new Honda CR-V will be available with two alternative engines, diesel and benzene. To perfectly meet all lifestyles, all variants come with 7 seat passenger capacity and equipped with a full range of advanced safety features and advanced function technologies. This results in the All-new Honda CR-V being a more premium SUV compared to its previous generations. The 1.6L i-DTEC DIESEL TURBO Engine features a more powerful turbocharged diesel engine which includes; Powerful driving performance 2-stage Turbocharger The 2-stage turbocharger intelligently works together through fast and accurate electronic control system to provide high driving performance for all driving preferences. These 2 turbo devices are; the high pressure turbo and low pressure turbo. The 2-stage turbo operates together at engine's initial accelerating state to take off. The high pressure turbo is controlled by a variable geometry turbine (VGT) to ensure quick throttle response, reduce pumping losses at low engine speeds and also increases fuel economy while accelerating at high speed. The low-pressure turbo is controlled by a conventional waste gate valve to provide more engine torque. And both devices will intelligently switch work in the stable run and seamlessly work together for combustion efficiency. Intercooler The Intercooler cools down the intake airs which increase density which mean more oxygen can be supplied to the cylinder, leading to more combustion efficiency. Common Rail Common Rail is a function for pressure control in the fuel injection system by electronic control; it controls precise pressure for all injectors, detected by its sensor. The pressure control considers Engine RPM, Temperature, Amount of exhaust gas & amount of Fuel Injection while ensuring the most suitable pressure. Multi Injection The fuel injection works at various levels based on the engine's RPM. The amount of fuel and injection timing is controlled during the combustion process which leads to fuel efficiency and reduces engine vibration and noise. Fuel Efficiency Idle Stop System Idle Stop System: This reduces any unnecessary working of the engine which automatically stop the engine and restart again when release the brake pedal or press the acceleration pedal in case that Automatic Brake Hold is operating. It reduces overall fuel use. Eco-friendliness Exhaust Gas Recirculation System – EGR To improve the efficiency of the engine combustion and reduce the Emission 1.6L i-DTEC engine Diesel Turbo has an exhaust gas recirculation system which brings some of the exhaust gas back again to the combustion process, The recirculation of the exhaust gas warm ups the intake gas temperature to make it ready for better efficiency of combustion, In addition, to reducing the Emission, there is the sensor to detect the quality of exhaust gas, and bring the gas back to combustion process to reduce the emission before release, EGR will support the efficiency of Combustion and Environment. Diesel Particulate Filter – DPF Diesel Particulate Filter is exclusively installed into the Diesel Engine because with the diesel fuel after combustion there will be a normal filter cannot filter this Particulate Matter. So the1.6L i-DTEC Diesel Turbo will apply DPF to ensure high emission control and optimize eco-friendly sustainability. The Particulate Matter will be burn automatically with the heat from engine working process. i-DTEC DIESEL TURBO Engine with 9-speed automatic transmission developed under Earth Dreams Technology in the All-new Honda CR-V is designed to offer number of real-world benefits to consumers. With a wider spread of gears, the very low first gear ratio ensures a quick and powerful launch, while a high top-gear ratio results in reduced engine speed thus reduces fuel consumption and noise level at cruising speeds. With a greater number of gears and smaller gear steps, it also provides better response to driver inputs, and smoother shifts giving the sensation of more linear and harmonic acceleration through the gears. Depending on the driving situation – engine speed and throttle application – the new nine-speed automatic transmission can even shift directly down gears from 9th to 5th gear and 7th to 4th gear, additionally to all two gears and one gear downshifts. All other multiple down shifts are overlapped shifts where an additional shift needs to be performed in background in order to achieve the target gear. The 5th generation of CR-V is offered with the updated Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™. Software and hardware upgrades result in an increase in engine torque (up to a total of 40-percent) that can be sent to the rear wheels, based on the driving conditions. The result is improved performance in low traction conditions when AWD comes into play. The compact and efficient Real Time AWD provides a high degree of 4-wheel-drive sophistication in rain, dirt roads and dry pavement. Real Time AWD offers the optimal balance of confident capability and user friendliness in a lightweight and fuel-efficient design. The driver can simply step on the accelerator and let the system maximize use of available grip and climbing capability. The system operation is completely automatic and virtually transparent in smoothness. The innovative capabilities of the system are prioritized to further support high fuel efficiency and all-around drivability on-road as well as off-road. Assisting the front wheels when it is beneficial, Real Time AWD instantly powers the rear wheels when starting from a stop, even on dry pavement, working in cooperation with Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA) and the Motion-Adaptive Electric Power Steering (EPS). The Real Time AWD system can operate at all speeds when needed. When torque transfer to the rear wheels is not required, such as when cruising, drive force to the rear wheels is decoupled for reduced drag. The introduction of i-DTEC DIESEL TURBO Engine in the All-new Honda CR-V will make the vehicle offer the ultimate driving performance, fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness which will serve the perfection needs of the customers.
