Bangkok--30 Mar--Hyundai Motor Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. lines up Thailand's best-selling MPVs, the H-1 and the Grand Starex, at the 38th Bangkok International Motor Show 2017. This year's theme of the 38th Bangkok International Motor Show 2017 is 'Reach to the Planet of Technology'. The show aims not only to generate sales but also to allow manufacturers such as Hyundai to showcase the latest technologies that make driving safer, more economical and comfortable. "As for all of us in the Thai automotive industry, 2016 turned out to be a lot slower than anticipated. The market contracted to show a negative 4% growth over 2015," Mr. Hideki Yanagisawa, president of Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said "Frankly, it should not be too much of a surprise given that there were many socio-economic factors to take into consideration, and we have to look forward, show fortitude and perseverance and have confidence in the fact that slow economies always turn the corner," he said. "However, for Hyundai, our sales matched our expectations, thanks to our latest version of the H-1 and Grand Starex MPVs which provide luxury, comfort and functionality – and at an affordable price point that customers can't find anywhere else. "This year marks our 10th anniversary of operations in Thailand. It was 2007 when we started off with a small office, a handful of staff and a relatively small sales target. "Today, we are proud to see that our business has grown consistently – supported by significant investments in technology, training, showroom network expansion, and products that meet Thai customer demands. So much so that now there are more than 30,000 Hyundai families in Thailand with a range of our vehicles," continued Mr.Yanagisawa. He added "With such positive feedback about our products and encouraging growth, we have been encouraged to continue with business expansion plans, training programs, and improved services to satisfy existing and future clients. "We will continue to import our range of vehicles and distribute them through our network of reliable and professional dealers across Thailand. We see no change to this business model in the foreseeable future as it's a system that works well for the end-customer and our partners in the Kingdom," concluded Mr. Yanagisawa. Throughout 2017, Hyundai will embark on a series of customer loyalty activities as well as introduce a range of special editions and new vehicle line-ups. On display this year will be the Elantra, and our two MPVS stars - Grand Starex and H-1, both of which underwent improvements with interior and exterior designs and features that enhanced Hyundai's vision of modern and premium qualities. Features such power sliding doors, smart view systems, new seating and bigger sized roof-mounted LCD screens ensure that our MPV customers always have a safe, comfortable and enjoyable ride. Besides the vehicles on display, there's also a family corner with our Shoot & Share activities.
