CIMB Thai introduces new business ally joining hands with SPAR to open mini branch in gas station supermarket to facilitate customers and suit their lifestyles

Bangkok--18 Dec--CIMB Thai Bank Mr. Adisorn Sermchaiwong, senior executive vice president, Consumer Banking, CIMB Thai Bank announced that CIMB Thaijoined hands with SPAR, a supermarket operator in Bangchak Gas Station opening a new Ratchapruek Mini Branch which will be opened daily from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. to serve on account opening, deposit acceptance, loan application and international remittance. It aims to facilitate customers who visit the petrol station to take service and buy things at the supermarket. "Opening a mini branch in a supermarket is an interesting model. It makes a clear difference in approaching customers and communities. This supermarket is not just a place where people pass through but a center that gathers people in the community. This petro station is regularly visited by people to fill their gas tanks and buy things in the supermarket that offers a full range of consuming products. It also provides a co-working space for people to work and meet. This extra financial service will facilitate community people and respond to their basic needs and make this place become a community that fulfills local needs even more. Ratchapruek Mini Branch at SPAR Supermarket in Bangchak Gas Station (Ratchapruek 2 Branch, Nontaburi) is a third pilot mini branch of CIMB Thai that is currently being assessed in terms of feedbacks and consumer behaviors to ensure that it serves customers with true understanding of their needs and achieves a key objective of customers receiving services conveniently and quickly. Mr. Adisorn said further that the mini branches are our adaptation during the transition period between traditional banking and digital banking. They will deliver services which cannot be rendered by digital banking. Meanwhile, resizing and change of format are a way to integrate digital banking and universal banking.
