The Japan Times, The Mainichi Daily News, NHK WORLD, NIKKEI and Kyodo News are launching a joint English portal website from July 16 to July 24 to provide news reports, transcripts, official documents and other information for a series of ASEAN ministerial meetings including the 18th ASEAN Regional Forum
(ARF) to be held in Bali, Indonesia.
Media organizations can access the Japan Press Pool Service website to obtain the following in English:
- News alerts and reports on the meetings as well as talks on the sidelines involving Japan;
- Top stories from Japan;
- Unofficial provisional transcripts of joint press conferences, official comments by Japan's foreign minister and Japanese press briefings;
- News photos and videos;
- Information and news reports on side events;
- Schedules;
- Official transcripts and documents to be released by the Japanese government.

(Login IDs and passwords are not required.)
The Japan Press Pool Service marks the first time for the five Japanese news organizations to team up and offer such a service.
