The Frequent Flyer Program cooperation between the two carriers began July 26th, 2011. The arrangement allows Air China PhoenixMiles members to earn Status Mileage on all scheduled flights operated by Tibet Airlines(airline code: TV), and redeem Award Tickets on all scheduled flights operated and marketed by Tibet Airlines from November 1st, 2011.

Air China has acquired a stake in Lhasa-based startup Tibet Airlines. Tibet Airlines currently operates three A319s on routes from Lhasa to Ali and Chengdu. The aircraft have been retrofitted in a way to make them acclimatize to altitude flight.
