In Yingkou, Zhixuan Kiln is hailed as the "premier Zhen Kiln in Northeast China" - a traditional wood-fired kiln of the Jingdezhen lineage. Zhixuan Kiln served as an official kiln for a millennium and as an imperial kiln for more than four centuries. As early as the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty, it had already become a major production site for exquisite blue-and-white porcelain.
Inheriting the traditional craftsmanship of the Zhen Kiln, artisan Xing Ying has devoted himself to studying and refining the art of wood-fired ceramics featuring natural ash-glaze textures, keeping the ancient kiln fire alive. The kiln's wares are crafted for practical use. Wood-fired tea canisters keep tea fresh by preventing moisture and pests while maintaining a stable temperature that preserves fragrance and inhibits unwanted odors. Tea-awakening jars, with their porous, breathable structure, help dissipate stale storage odors and revive the inherent aromas of aged tea.
When paired with teapots and cups from the same kiln, the tea delivers a naturally sweet and mellow taste. Every wood-fired ceramic piece is forged by clay and fire.
