SKYWORTH Solar announced the launch of its premium brand Solavita in Vietnam at the 4th Solar Energy Storage Future Vietnam 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City on September 22. Full market promotion is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with residential solar and battery storage solutions as the initial focus. Vietnam will serve as a key launch market for Solavita's smart microgrid rollout across Southeast Asia. During the event, SKYWORTH Solar received the Solar Energy Ecosystem Leadership Award, adding recognition to the company's capabilities as it advances the rollout.
Organized by Energy Box, the one-day conference covered direct power purchase agreements, energy storage commercialization, home energy storage, and the energy transition of factories and industrial parks. Spanning residential, commercial and industrial applications, the discussions also reflected the growing attention to system design, operational management and delivery services as solar and storage move into practical use.
Electricity demand provides a clear backdrop. According to the International Energy Agency, demand across Southeast Asia has grown by an average of about 6% a year since 2015. Vietnam Electricity reported a 10.2% year-on-year increase in commercial electricity sales in the first half of 2026. Vietnam's revised power plan aims for 50% of households to use self-consumed rooftop solar by 2030, and a 2026 government directive encourages rooftop systems paired with battery storage. For homeowners, the practical questions are how a system fits the roof and daily power needs, and who will support it after installation.
Introducing Solavita marks an important step in SKYWORTH Solar's expansion in Vietnam from residential solar to intelligent energy solutions across multiple applications. Positioned as a smart microgrid system specialist, Solavita covers energy needs from mobile to stationary applications. In Vietnam, it will begin with home energy, using a home energy management system (HEMS) to coordinate solar generation, the grid, battery storage, EV chargers and household loads, bringing integrated energy management into everyday use.
The rollout reflects SKYWORTH Solar's assessment of Vietnam as a market with an established base of solar deployment and awareness, where economic development is also driving evolving household energy needs. Solar capacity has expanded substantially since 2017, building practical experience in the market. High temperatures, humidity and salt exposure in some coastal areas also place greater demands on equipment durability and long-term reliability. SKYWORTH Solar believes products that compete primarily on price, without adequate quality and service support, will find it harder to meet these needs, creating opportunities for solutions that combine reliable equipment, system coordination and long-term service.
As the number of EVs in Vietnam grows, home energy applications are extending to vehicle charging. SKYWORTH Solar sees household needs moving from solar generation alone toward coordinated solar, storage and EV charging, a key application for Solavita's smart microgrid solutions. Drawing on its European experience in residential solar and storage integration, energy management and delivery through local partners, Solavita will use HEMS to coordinate battery operation and EV charging around solar output, household loads and vehicle charging needs. This experience will be adapted to Vietnamese homes, climate and energy use, providing a foundation for subsequent expansion across Southeast Asia.
SKYWORTH Solar has completed over 100 residential projects in Vietnam since beginning local operations this spring, according to company figures. These projects provide a practical foundation for Solavita's product adaptation and local service development. Drawing on project feedback, the team is refining mounting and waterproofing solutions for local roofs and rainy conditions, while configuring solar, storage and energy management systems around each home's roof and load profile.
Solavita plans to build a local delivery and service network through its PD2C model, working closely with Vietnamese service providers and installers. The brand will provide system solutions, digital tools, training and service standards, while local partners handle customer consultation, site surveys, installation and after-sales support. SKYWORTH Solar has already established an agent and service-provider network in Vietnam and is advancing local warehousing cooperation. The rollout will further develop local distribution, spare-parts availability and after-sales processes to connect product supply with partner delivery and ongoing service. Existing cooperation with financial institutions, including BIDV, provides a basis for exploring financing arrangements suited to local customers.
Residential energy remains Solavita's initial focus in Vietnam. Over time, its system coordination and service capabilities will also extend to suitable commercial and industrial applications, complementing SKYWORTH Solar's existing C&I project capabilities.
SKYWORTH Solar has scheduled partner recruitment meetings in Ho Chi Minh City and B?c Ninh for late September to discuss cooperation and delivery requirements with local service providers and installers. "Introducing Solavita allows us to address household needs extending from solar generation to coordinated solar, storage and EV charging. Vietnam is our priority market in Southeast Asia for the fourth quarter and an important starting point for building our regional product offering, partner network and service capabilities. We will combine our European experience with local needs to build capabilities in Vietnam, with plans to expand gradually into Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines in the first quarter of 2027."
