AUNET LANDS KEY AT&T EXEC TO GROW ASIAN INTERNET BUSINESS SILICON VALLEY COMPANY NAMES JOANN PATRICK-EZZELL CHAIRMAN AND CEO MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- AUNET, a Silicon Valley Internet company focused on Asia/Pacific, announced today that it has recruited AT&T's JoAnn Patrick-Ezzell as chief executive officer. Under Patrick-Ezzell's leadership, it will expand its charter considerably to become one of the region's leading full-service e-commerce enablers. Patrick-Ezzell, who will be both chairman and CEO, was president and CEO of AT&T's operations across Asia. Change Agent and Innovator Patrick-Ezzell, who is 45 years old, has 24 years of experience in telecommunications, and expertise in global markets, business development, strategy, sales, marketing and operations. In the early 1990s, she led the acquisition and establishment of AT&T's global messaging service. Following that, she launched and led AT&T's market-leading frame relay service business. She drove the development of AT&T's Internet business throughout Asia/Pacific, including groundbreaking Internet telephony, electronic commerce and global clearinghouse services. She also served as chairman of AT&T Jens, a joint venture between AT&T and 25 Japanese corporations. Before heading up AT&T's operations across Asia, she was president of AT&T Online Services, Asia/Pacific. Patrick-Ezzell has been a frequent presenter and keynote speaker at conferences and industry events across Asia, including Internet World, the Asia Pacific Economic Council (APEC) and the Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC).
