MATT MASSENGILL APPOINTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL MANAGER OF WESTERN DIGITAL'S ENTERPRISE STORAGE GROUP IRVINE, Calif., June 27 /PRNewswire-Asianet/ -- Western Digital Corporation (NYSE: WDC) has appointed Matt Massengill senior vice president and general manager of its Enterprise Storage Group. Massengill becomes the first permanent general manager of the WD group that produces high-capacity, high- performance WD Enterprise hard drives for makers of servers and other multi- user, enterprise-wide systems. He will report to Western Digital chairman, president and chief executive officer Chuck Haggerty. The Enterprise Storage Group, established in January 1995, commenced shipments in late 1996 and became profitable in its first full quarter of volume shipments in March 1997. Matt Massengill joined Western Digital in 1985 as a product engineer and rose through engineering and marketing activities to become vice president of marketing for WD's Personal Storage Group. In the last several years, the highly successful Personal Storage marketing group has established and developed Western Digital's relationships with the world's leading computer makers. Before joining Western Digital, Massengill served Ford Aerospace and Communications Corp. for three years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1983.
