The Microsoft Windows 98 backup utility, which features the technology behind Seagate Software's award-winning Seagate Backup Exec for Windows 95, includes several key technology upgrades. Most significantly, the utility's new Emergency Recovery allows users to resume operations quickly and easily following workstation failure. With the Emergency Recovery discs, users can automaticaaly rebuild the operating system and restore the latest full backup directly from their tape device in the event of failure. Traditionally, users have been forced to manually reinstall the operating system before the backup software could function and enable users to resotre data-a-time-consuming and tedious process.
