NEW YORK, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/Asianet/ -- Andrew Butcher, publisher of FORTUNE Asia, today announced plans to accelerate the launch of FORTUNE China on a regular basis. This is in response to the favorable reception of the planned Chinese language edition of FORTUNE, scheduled for 4Q'96.
"The response to our initial plan was very positive indeed," said Butcher, "and this convinced us that a more aggressive long-term publishing strategy for the China market was needed. As a result, we have appointed CCI Asia Pacific Ltd as our exclusive licensee for the Chinese edition of FORTUNE."
FORTUNE China will be published five times a year beginning in November 1996. Editorial contents will be selected from FORTUNE and other sources on the basis of the management information needs of China's senior enterprise managers, as well as financial executives, legal and accounting professionals, and government officials responsible for economic and investment matters.

Translation of FORTUNE China will be done by a highly qualified team of experts in Beijing. Initial circulation will be 51,000 copies (BPA membership has been applied for), with high quality four-color printing throughout.
