Announcement of Asia's Inaugural Intelligent20 Awards SINGAPORE, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire Asia-AsiaNet/- Asia's top 20 IT-savvy enterprises, handpicked by an independent panel of judges from A.T. Kearney, Arthur Andersen, Deloitte Consulting, KPMG Consulting and Magnus Management Consultants, will be honoured tonight at the inaugural Intelligent20 Awards gala dinner to be held in Singapore. The winners of the Intelligent20 Awards are: AIA, Adaptec Manufacturing, Asia Capacity Exchange, Asia Travel Network, Citibank, CWT Distribution, Eastman Chemical, First Ecommerce Asia, Hongkong Telecom, Iteru.net, Linbert Travel Exchange, Royal Selangor International, Seagate Technology International, Singapore Engineering Software, Singapore Sports Council, SingTel, The Asia Life Assurance Society, Wacker Siltronic Singapore, Whirlpool Southeast Asia, and Zone Group. The first of its kind in Asia, the inaugural Intelligent20 Awards was open to entries from seven countries: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Thirty-two entries made it to the final round. The objective of the Intelligent20 Awards is to recognise the strategic use of IT in Asian corporations and organisations. The Awards measures the business impact of deploying technology across four key performance indicators: customer satisfaction; product/service quality assurance; return on technology investment; and innovation. It also places emphasis on business best practices and strong project management. Twelve finalists will also be awarded trophies. They are: Andover E-Pulppaper, Arthursbooks, BHP Steel Building Products, Electec, Engage Asia, HDB, International SOS, Land Search Online, Lenspec Technology, McGallen & Bolden, Omni Industries, and PT Travoo Online. These companies have demonstrated strategic benefits of tech investments. Strong management support, clearly drawn business objectives, coupled with the right tech solutions and execution plans, have made these projects a success. "It's great to see a lot more companies today evaluating ROI on IT investments on the basis of top line results rather than purely cost-savings. After all, the best way to grow is to grow your revenue. The Intelligent 20 Awards salutes these companies, their initiative, commitment and leadership in bringing to their businesses new dimensions and opportunities through IT," said Philip Khoo, group publisher, CMP Asia. The projects ranged from supply chain management and enterprise resource planning implementations to B2B- and B2C-type initiatives. Each project was assessed against more than 10 performance indicators. The Intelligent20 Awards is sponsored by Microsoft, SAP, Sun Microsystems, iPlanet, Check Point Software Technologies and Sesami.com.
