OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--Sep 10--PRNewswire/AsiaNet In what may be the world's largest land sale this year, the vast 108,000-acre Hubbard Ranch in Wallowa County, Oregon, is going to auction on October 30. The ranch was granted earlier this year to the Children's Community Foundation (CCF) of Overland Park, Kansas through a charitable trust. After the sale, the charitable trust will solicit and fund grant requests from children's charities around the country on an annual basis. CCF will host a gala showing of the Hubbard Ranch on October 15th. Invitations are available through the web site www.childrensfoundation.com. The Hubbard Ranch boasts some of Oregon's finest cattle ranching, running an average herd size for the past 10 years of 1,500 to 2,000 cow units. The ranch sprawls between Hell's Canyon National Park and the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, and is home to abundant wildlife including elk, mule deer, big horn sheep, upland game birds, and bear. Miles of the scenic Imnaha River wind through the property offering anglers access to rainbow and brown trout, steelhead and salmon. "We sell a lot of ranches with our charitable trust program," says CCF Executive Director Colin Lindsey. "But the Hubbard Ranch is one of the largest and most beautiful pieces of property we've ever dealt with. When recent visitors from Alaska said the same thing, we knew what we had. Now it's just a matter of who will show up to bid-we're hoping that more than just Lewis and Clark show up." The Hubbard sale follows on the heels of the Children's Community Foundation auction of the 27,000-acre Camp Creek ranch in October of last year. The Camp Creek ranch sold to the Nature Conservancy in what was both their largest acquisition ever and the largest land sale in the country last year. Available for immediate interviews: Colin Lindsey, executive director of CCF - Don Hubbard, owner of the Hubbard Ranch - Joe Collins, manager of the Hubbard Ranch - J.P. King, auctioneer.
