ANDREW L. DALISA APPOINTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF READ-RITE INTERNATIONAL MILPITAS, Calif., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- Read-Rite Corporation (Nasdaq: RDRT) appointed Andrew L. Dalisa senior vice president of Read-Rite International. Dalisa, who had been vice president and general manager of Read-Rite's Maxtor Business Unit, succeeds S.G. Tien, who was named vice president and general manager of Read-Rite's Tapehead Business Unit. Dalisa will be headquartered in the company's plant in Bangpa-In, Thailand, overseeing operations in that country as well as in Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. Dalisa joined Read-Rite in 1992 as vice president, quality and reliability. He moved to the Maxtor Business Unit in October 1997. His career began with Philips Laboratories, where he served as senior program manager in the Electro-optic Materials and Device Group. In 1978, he founded and managed the Flat Panel Display Division for Exxon Enterprises, and in 1982 he founded Protolite Corporation. He served Raychem Corp. in the Taliq Division, successively as vice president technology and operations and vice president technology and quality in the years 1985 to 1992. Michael A. Klyszeiko, executive vice president, operations, said, "Andy Dalisa is especially well qualified to help Read-Rite move forward with new strategies for manufacturing and customer satisfaction in our Asian facilities." Dalisa earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics at Polytechnic Institute of New York and a Ph.D. degree in physics from Adelphi University.
