BANGKOK, March 17 -- PRNewswire/AsiaNet
Diebold, Incorporated, a global leader in self-service delivery systems, security and services, will showcase Opteva(TM), its new family of automated teller machines (ATMs), which combines enhanced security, convenience and reliability, at the Retail Finance Asia Pacific 2004 Conference & Expo, held March 17-19 in Bangkok, Thailand.
"The entire design of the Opteva family focuses on improved usability and enhanced safety for consumers," said James L.M. Chen, vice president of Asia-Pacific for Diebold. "It sets a new standard in the banking industry by providing a full range of self-service solutions to the global financial industry.
To help protect the assets of financial institutions, the Opteva line features advanced security and fraud deterrence mechanisms offered only by Diebold, including a fraud resistant dispenser and card reader, as well as a Triple DES-compliant encrypted PIN-pad.
Opteva's specialized security features not only make the user's experience more pleasant, but also more secure. Consumer awareness mirrors, various lighting options, a recessed keypad and display, and privacy display filters reduce the opportunity for PIN surfing. Opteva ATMs also contain integrated ink stain technologies to render any removed bank notes unusable.
To reduce the incidence of PIN logical interception, Opteva uses a Triple DES-supported encrypted PIN pad, "which prevents unauthorized access to "raw" PIN numbers.
Opteva ATMs are designed to meet all known international accessibility standards, and they are the only ATMs in the industry that support both text-to-speech and .wav files.
Opteva's intuitive interface is extremely user-friendly. It features a standard 15.1-inch flat panel LCD screen, which is the largest in the industry. Sunlight-viewable and touch-screen options are available across the entire product line. Tri-color, programmable lead-through indicator lights -- another Diebold exclusive feature -- also simplify the user experience.
Diebold, Incorporated is a global leader in providing integrated self-service delivery systems and services. Diebold employs more than 13,000 associates with representation in more than 80 countries worldwide and headquarters in North Canton, Ohio, USA. Diebold reported revenue of US$2.1 billion in 2003 and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol 'DBD.'
