The ABLA recognizes outstanding business leaders of successfully managed enterprises in the Asian region. The Awards were announced at a celebratory dinner held on May 26, 2004 at the Four Seasons Hotel, in Shanghai, China.
Established in 2001, ABLA has come to define the highest level of recognition for corporations in Asia by honoring and rewarding those outstanding business leaders who achieve great success in leading their company through the ever-changing business world. The awards consist of five categories: Asia Business Leader of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Corporate Citizen of the Year, CEO of the Year, and Chinese CEO of the Year. Winners are determined by a poll of top executives.
Steve Chang's "Innovator the Year" title, based on achievements in new product development and ground-breaking business processes, business models, and strategies, recognizes Chang's innovation and leadership within the business world. Chang has repeatedly led the pioneering of new technologies and strategies that have brought Trend Micro to the forefront of the antivirus security industry and permanently established the company's leading position within a fiercely competitive market.
