Executive Committee will submit, on October 13, 2004, a

SAN DIEGO: Results of a multi-center, prospective study
involving two leading drug-eluting stents were presented today,
with data indicating that patients with long areas of vessel
blockage (> 24mm) treated with the Cypher Sirolimus-eluting
Stent had less in-stent late loss (tissue growth inside the
stent) and less in-stent restenosis (reblockage) than patients
treated with the Taxus Express 2 Stent or a bare metal stent.

STRONG RESULT...
PURCHASE: PepsiCo delivered another strong quarter, with
earnings per share of $0.79 that included tax benefits of
$0.13. Excluding the tax benefits, earnings per share were
$0.66, up 14 per cent versus year ago. Top-line momentum
continued, as revenues grew over 6 per cent in the third
quarter. Year to date, revenues were up over 8 per cent and
earnings per share were $1.86 including the tax benefits.
Excluding the tax benefits, earnings per share year to date
were $1.73, up 13 per cent versus year ago.
