TOKYO, Oct. 4 -- Kyodo JBN/ AsiaNetJapan Association of Chain Drug Stores (JACDS)Every year, the Japan Association of Chain Drug Stores holds the "Japan Drugstore Show," a prodigious exposition of the grandest scale in the industry. This year marks the fifth year of the Drugstore Show, which grows in scale each year. And the momentum of incoming applications this year is even more intense than it was last year. During the three days, 100,000 visitors are expected.Drugstores in Japan continue to grow as businesses that not only provide medical and beauty products, but also such daily life necessities as food and drink, stationery, hobby kits and pet supplies. By the year 2010, the industry is expected to burst through the yearly sales mark of 10 trillion yen.The Japan Association of Chain Drug Stores, which organizes the exposition, consists of 10 thousand member drugstores, or 68% of the drugstores in Japan. The Drugstore Show also attracts the attention of convenience stores, department stores, supermarkets and other retail outlets outside of the drugstore industry. In May this year, we entered an official agreement of friendly collaboration with the China Association of Chain Drug Stores (CACDS), hopefully contributing to reform of manufacture and distribution of medicines in Asia. We are offering booth space to exhibitors from outside of Japan at a special price and are trying to be helpful so that they can exploit new markets in Japan. Please visit our website for details: http://www.jacds.gr.jpExposition OutlineName:5th Japan Drugstore ShowDate:Feb 10, 11, 12 (Thu, Fri, Sat), 2005Place:Tokyo Big Sight, East Halls 1, 2, 3, 4Scale:500 companies in 1,200 boothsNumber of visitors: 100,000Main Sponsor:Japan Association of Chain Drug Stores(JACDS)Other Sponsors (scheduled): Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Tokyo Metropolitan Government China Association of Chain Drug Stores (CACDS) China Beauty & Cosmetic Chamber (CBC) National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS/U.S.A) Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Japan Self-Medication Industry (JSMI) NPO Self-Medication Advocacy Council (SMAC) Planet.inc.Special Booth Price: 420,000 yen per booth (includes decoration expense and consumption tax) 630,000 yen for 2 booths (includes decoration expense and consumption tax)Application Deadline: Dec 17, 2004 (Fri) Source:Japan Drugstore Show Implementation Committee Contact:M.Yokoyama FAX:+81-3-3836-6482 E-Mail:[email protected] --Distributed by AsiaNet (www.asianetnews.net)----InfoQuest (PP)--
