ASIANET: Sitt Tatt selected to supply industrial gases in Malaysia

ALLENTOWN, Pa.--Oct.2--PRNewswire/AsiaNet Sitt Tatt Industrial Gases Snd. Bhd., the industrial gas joint venture company of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.in Malaysia, has been selected as the industrial gas supplier for the new Kulim Hi Tech Park in Kulim, a 3600-acre complex established by the Malaysian gorvernment in the state of Kedah, northern Malaysia, to attract high-tech manufacturing companies and research and development organizations. Under a recently signed agreement, Sitt Tatt will purchase approximately six acres, including right-of-ways, within the park to develop the infrastructure required to support the high-growth industries, primarily semiconductor manufacturers, that are expected to establish operations in the complex. Sitt Tatt's first major investments in Kulim Park will include a techinical center to provide engineering and equipment-related services to customers in the area and work with them on joint research projects; the company also intends to build a specialty gas plant that will supplyultrahigh-purityspecialtygases.Workon these two projects is expected to begin in early 1996. Sitt Tatt also plans to break ground for a new air separation plant and pipeline network in the park in the future.
