The Health Ministry Send 10 Ton Medical Aid

JAKARTA, JAN. 1 --Antara-AsiaNet/InfoQuest The health ministry of Indonesia today has sent 10 ton of medical and hygiene kit, 100 body boxes, 15 sanitation material, 70 vents and deployed 32 medical dan paramedical workers to Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam dan North Sumatera provinces. They are transported by the Indonesian air force's hercules planes. Before, The ministry had also send 41, ton of medical and 6.3 ton food for infant and 519 body boxes using the hercules planes. The aid has reached Banda Aceh and been delivered to Army Hospital in Banda Aceh. The Hospital is the centre of health services for the victims since the other hospitals are not destroyed by the tidal wave and earthquaqe. Naydial Roesdal as the chariman of the team for health management crisis for Aceh and Sumatera Victims said the ministry had sent two medical teams consisting of some spesalist medical and general medical doctors to Banda Aceh and Nias Island, North Sumatera and supported by two ambulances to help the victims. Thousands of people need medical care urgently and the death toll may climb over 100,000. The victims lack of food and medical supplies. All the supplies are pilled up in Polonia, Airport, Medan, North Sumatera and Halim Perdana Kusumah air base, Jakarta. The number of refugees reach 80,000 people.
