NIEUWPOORT, THE HAGUE, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
In the immediate aftermath of the tsunami disaster a unique initiative was
undertaken by a group of clinicians of the University Medical Center Utrecht in
the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Central Military Hospital and the
Emergency Hospital Utrecht and several Dutch expert centers. On January 14 2005
this group will launch a web-based interactive survey called 'TSUNAMI
INTERNATIONAL SURVEY ON EMOTIONAL IMPACT' http://www.tisei.org. This site is
unique since it is accessible for all victims of the tsunami disaster, their
family, their loved ones and rescue workers. It provides a series of internet
based features that enable assessment of emotional needs and at the same time
provides on-line help, e.g. electronic consultation and forum. These will be
demonstrated during the press conference. The site will be accessible in
multi-language format. This initiative has been unconditionally supported by
Microsoft, Intel, HP and KPN International. The aim of the site is to support
healing and coping processes of victims and their families.
