Curtin University of Technology this week celebrated its presence on the
east coast of Australia with the launch of its new Sydney Campus.
Curtin Sydney - established in collaboration with IBT Education Limited -will deliver degree programs to international students wishing to study in Australia.
Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Lance Twomey said the launch was a
significant occasion for the University.
“This is an exciting new development in Curtin’s history, giving the
University a true presence on both sides of the nation,” he said.
“Curtin Sydney will give students the chance to enjoy innovative teaching methods, excellent facilities, first rate academic staff and access to industry in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities.”
Professor Twomey said the Campus would deliver three degree courses in
Accounting, Marketing and a double major in Management and Marketing in the first stages of its operations.
The Campus will meet the continued high demand for international student
places in Sydney.
In addition to its degree programs, the Campus will also provide pathway
programs through the Foundation Certificate of Commerce and the Diploma of Commerce.
Curtin Sydney will be led by the Campus Director, Adjunct Professor Doug Hinchliffe.
“Professor Hinchliffe has been heavily involved in the planning of Curtin
Sydney and I have every confidence he will be an outstanding foundation leader for the new Campus,” Professor Twomey said.
Curtin will control the curriculum, assessment and academic standards of the programs, while IBT will be responsible for course delivery.
“IBT have a proven high standard in high quality course delivery and I look forward to seeing the positive results of this collaboration,” Professor Twomey said.
IBT Managing Director Rod Jones welcomed the collaboration with Curtin.

university campus for students wishing to study in Sydney,” Mr Jones said.
Curtin Sydney will be located in the Rocks area, with plans to move to
