Bangkok--Feb 26--DATAMAT Mr. Prithep So-Sothikul, President of Datamat Public Co., Ltd. said that Datamat will provide the INTERNET system for the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre during 1-2 March 1996 in Bangkok. Since there will be many delegates accompanying their Leaders as well as over 3,000 reporters from all over the world, there is an urgent need for the Royal Thai Government to have state-of-the-art telecommunications system available throughout the Meeting. Datamat was asked by office of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister to lend support to the ASEM by installing the INTERNET system, computers and co-operating with NECTEC by providing supporting staff. In this regard, Datamat will install 20 Unit NEC PCs Model V 75 which has CPU pentium 75 MHZ, 8 MB RAM, hard disk of 850 MB, and the 15" inch NEC monitor model MULTISYNC. These computer will be terminals through which all participants in the ASEM can effectively communicate with the world. Indeed, this would be the best evidence of Thailand's advancement in information technology. Mr. Prithep also added that this service confirms Datamat's commitment to co-operate with and contribute to the government sector as actively as with the private sector.
