ข่าวต่างประเทศ Monday March 11, 1996 09:37 —Asianet Press Release

ADVANCED SUPERCOMPUTER ARCHITECTURE The Zycad LightSpeed simulation server implements an architecture geared to deliver supercomputer-level performance for simulation of high- end electronic designs. The architecture utilizes: * Massively parallel multiprocessors, in configurations ranging from 64 to 4,096 processors. * On-chip memory for fast processing by reducing off-chip memory accesses. * Hierarchical communications architecture for high-bandwidth communications between processors. * Intelligent partitioning of workloads across the processors. PRICING AND AVAILABILITY Beta shipments of LightSpeed will begin in June 1996. Pricing for typically configured systems is in the $200,000 to $1 million range. UPGRADE PROGRAM SLATED FOR CURRENT ZYCAD CUSTOMERS To ensure its customers' investment in Zycad systems, Zycad will implement an aggressive upgrade program which will enable current and new users of its existing XP and Paradigm XP simulation systems to cost-effectively migrate to LightSpeed simulation servers. IDT Integrated Device Technology, Inc., is the developer of the high performance SRAMs used in LightSpeed. IDT designs, manufactures, and markets CMOS VLSI integrated circuits (ICs) for a range of growth markets, including desktop computer, server, data communications and office automation. IDT offers products in four key areas: high-speed SRAMs, RISC microprocessors, specialty memories and high-performance logic. The company's product areas are synergistic and provide solutions that optimize the cost and performance of microprocessor-based systems. Headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., IDT employs approximately 3,875 people worldwide. LSI Logic LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) provided the 0.5-micron logic device used in LightSpeed. LSI Logic, The System on a Chip Company, is a leading supplier of custom high-performance semiconductors, with operations worldwide. The company enables customers to build complete systems on a single chip with its CoreWare(R) design methodology program, thereby increasing performance, lowering system costs and accelerating time to market. LSI Logic develops application-optimized products in partnership with trendsetting customers, and operates leading-edge, high-volume manufacturing facilities to produce submicron logic chips. LSI Logic is headquartered at 1551 McCarthy Blvd., Milpitas, California 95035, 408-433-8000, http://www.lsilogic.com. Plexus Corporation Plexus Corporation (OTC: PLXS) is the co-developer and manufacturer of the circuit boards used in LightSpeed. Plexus, through its subsidiaries, Electronic Assembly Corporation and Technology Group, Inc., provides product development, manufacturing and testing solutions for major corporations on an international basis. Headquartered in Neenah, Wisconsin, the Company has manufacturing facilities both in Neenah and in Richmond, Kentucky, and product development facilities in Neenah. The Company has no proprietary products, but its designs are used in the computer, medical, industrial, communications, consumer and automotive fields. Zycad Corporation Zycad Corporation, the first company to develop simulation accelerator technology, was founded in 1981. Zycad offers design verification, rapid prototyping, and test analysis solutions to companies developing high-performance, electronic systems. In addition, Zycad has developed revolutionary, patented field programmable gate array technology. Zycad markets its solutions worldwide through direct and indirect sales channels.
