Asia Pacific leaders commit to raise awareness of cervical cancer screening and prevention programs
A special coalition of medical and public health experts will come together for a virtual press conference today at 11 a.m. (Hong Kong).
The virtual press conference will mark the formal launch of the Everything I Can Coalition—a founding group committed to the health and well-being of young women in Asia Pacific. Founding members include:
* Dr. Efren Domingo, Immediate Past President, Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of the Philippines;
* Dr. Gerry Wain, New South Wales Cervical Cancer Screening Program, Australia;
* Dr. Wang, Jen- Hsien, Taiwan Counter Contagious Diseases Society;
* Dr. Saunthari Somasundaram, National Cancer Society, Malaysia and
* Dr. Thiravud Khuhaprema, National Cancer Institute, Thailand.
Via a new Web site [http://www.idoeverythingican.org], key constituents will be able to view the launch video and hear testimonials from the Coalition’s founding members. This launch marks the first step in activating this regional coalition to help educate women and motivate them to see a doctor to manage
their personal health and wellness.
Site visitors will be invited to pledge to do everything they can to raise awareness of cervical cancer prevention. It is expected that coalition membership will grow over time and reporters will have exclusive and early access to future announcements.
