Perfect World Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: PWRD) ("Perfect World" or the "Company"), a leading online game developer and operator in China, announced that it won ten awards at the Golden Phoenix awards presentation at the 2008 China Game Industry Annual Conference on January 15 in Qingdao, China.
As one of the most influential events in the industry, the China Game Industry Annual Conference plays an important role in promoting the gaming industry in China, and has served as a communication platform for companies in the industry since 2005. In particular, the Golden Phoenix awards are regarded as some of the most prestigious in China's gaming industry.
Perfect World was honored with five corporate awards. The Company received the "2008 Overseas Development Award for Domestic Game Developers," the "2008 China Game Industry Annual Conference Special Award," and the "2008 China Game Industry Caring Company Award," and was named a "2008 Top 10 Chinese Game Developer" and a "2008 Top 10 Chinese Game Operator."
Additionally, Mr. Michael Chi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World, was named one of the "2008 Most Influential Individuals in the Chinese Game Industry."
The Company also won the following individual product awards: "Zhu Xian" was named a "2008 Top 10 Most Popular Online Game" and a "2008 Top 10 Most Popular Domestically-Developed Online Game." "Hot Dance Party" was named a "2008 Top 10 Most Popular Casual Online Game," and "Battle of the Immortals"
was named a "2009 Top 10 Most Anticipated Online Game."
