ASIANET: LEVI'S APPOINTS NEW ADVERTISING AGENCY TEAM FOR ASIA-PACIFIC

SINGAPORE/March 5 1997/MediaNetInternational-AsiaNet/-- Levi Struss & Co.'s Asia Pacific Division announced today the appointment of advertising agencies Bartle, Bogle Hegarty and McCann-Erickson to collaboratively serve the company's region-wide advertising needs. Bartle, Bogle Hegarty (BBH) has been appointed to manage pan-regional strategy and creative advertising concepts in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Australia and New Zealand. BBH produced the award winning "Clayman" television commercial that was seen throughout Asia last year. McCann-Erickson has been retained as the Media Planning and Buying agency for Asia-Pacific, with the exception of Japan, Indonesia and New Zealnd. As part of the new assignment, McCann-Erickson will name a Regional Media Director for LS&Co. to be based in Singapore. Through the Levi's (R) and Dockers (R) brand of jeans and casual apparel, Levi Strauss & Co. is the brand leader in all Asian markets where it distributes it's products. The company has set aggressive targets for further growth across the region.
