As of: 08 Jul 2011 1/ Since 26 May 2000, the Bank of Thailand has reported weekly international reserve figures on mark-to-market basis. 2/ Data regarding International Reserve and the Net Forward Position are as of 1 July 2011, while data regarding Net Claims on Government, Net Claims on Financial Institutions and Reserve Money are as of 30 June 2011. This is because 1 July 2011 is a bank holiday in Thailand.

Definitions
International Reserve = Gold + Foreign currency reserves + Special

Drawing Rights + Reserve position in the IMF

Net Forward Position = Bank of Thailand's forward obligations to buy

(+)or sell(-) foreign currency against Thai Baht

Net Claims on Government = Bank of Thailand's lending to Government-

Government's deposits at the Bank of Thailand and

Currency held by Government Net Claims on Financial Institutions = Bank of Thailand's lending to Financial

Institutions-Bank of Bank of Thailand's borrowing

from Financial Institutions

Reserve Money = Notes and coins in circulation + Deposits of

financial institutions at the Bank of Thailand.

Notes: - Government includes Central Government only.
  • Bank of Thailand has excluded Financial

Institution Development Fund since 1 January 2007.
