Brighton College Bangkok celebrates record-breaking exam success at A Level and IGCSE

Brighton College Bangkok is celebrating a historic year of academic success as pupils achieved record-breaking results in both A Levels and IGCSEs. The outstanding performances highlight the school's position as one of the leading international schools in Asia, combining world-class teaching with a holistic approach to education.

At A Level, the College celebrated its largest ever cohort of graduating pupils, with an exceptional number securing top grades and offers from an unprecedented range of universities worldwide. Pupils studying subjects such as Further Mathematics, Physics and Business Studies achieved particularly strong results, with more than two-thirds gaining A* or A grades. Head Master Nick Gallop praised the pupils' achievements, noting not only their academic excellence but also their compassion and leadership:

"We are immensely proud of this exceptional group of pupils. Not only for their record-breaking academic performances but also for the compassion and commitment they have shown throughout their time at the College. This is the year group who led support for flood relief efforts in Chiang Mai and worked tirelessly with Bangkok Community Help to support vulnerable communities across the city. They leave behind an academic legacy of distinction and a moral example for younger pupils to follow."

Among the many success stories was Kotaro, who achieved four A* grades and will go on to study Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. He reflected:

"The academic rigour and personalised teaching I received at Brighton College Bangkok made all the difference. I was constantly challenged to go beyond the curriculum, and the support with my university application was outstanding."

Other pupils secured places at world-leading universities including University College London, Chulalongkorn University, and King's College London. Sophie Peat, Head of Sixth Form, added:

"These results are a testament to the ambition and perseverance of our pupils. They have secured hundreds of university offers from institutions such as Cambridge, UCL, Northeastern and Thammasat, across subjects as diverse as Business, Interior Design, Psychology and Geography."

Incoming Head of Senior School, Matt Gilberthorpe, joined the celebrations:

"I am thrilled to be joining Brighton College Bangkok at such an exciting time. These outstanding A Level results are a testament to the pupils' dedication and the immense support of their teachers and families. I could not be more delighted to be here to celebrate their success and look forward to building on this excellence together."

The success extended beyond Sixth Form, as Year 11 pupils also celebrated the highest number of top IGCSE grades in the school's history. Results across a wide range of subjects provided pupils with an exceptional academic foundation as they continue into A Levels and beyond.

One pupil, Proud, achieved the very highest grade of A*9 in all 10 subjects taken. She said:

"The academic rigour and personalised teaching I received at Brighton College Bangkok made all the difference. I was constantly challenged to go beyond the curriculum, and the support with my learning has been outstanding."

Nick Gallop highlighted the qualities of the GCSE year group:

"This Year 11 group has distinguished themselves in so many ways. They are not only outstanding pupils, but also inspiring young people whose talents extend far beyond the classroom. Whether on the sports field, in music or through their voluntary work and teaching, they have set a remarkable example of leadership and kindness. Their GCSE results are richly deserved, but it is their generosity of spirit that makes them so memorable."

Justine Bell, Deputy Head Academic, also reflected on the results:

"We are so happy for all our pupils who have achieved an excellent range of results across the board. These results will set them up for success as they continue into A Levels and beyond to university."

With record-breaking outcomes at both A Level and IGCSE, Brighton College Bangkok continues to set new benchmarks for international education in the region. The College's blend of academic challenge, global perspective and commitment to character development ensures pupils are not only achieving outstanding results but also making a meaningful impact on their communities.
