Thailand is beginning to show a clear trend in Net Zero building development, with several major projects adopting sustainable technologies and concepts, setting new standards for real estate and business. Examples include:

  • One Bangkok?One Bangkok is an example of a building designed with environmental considerations and occupant well-being from the start. It has achieved LEED ND Platinum and WELL Core & Shell Platinum certifications. The project uses a District Cooling System, reducing electricity consumption by approximately 17,000 MWh/year and CO? emissions by around 9,000 tons/year. It also features a Smart Energy Management System and IoT for real-time energy monitoring, as well as water recycling systems and construction waste management with 75% circularity.
  • Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC)4QSNCC demonstrates how a convention center can adapt to sustainability using Net Zero technologies to systematically reduce carbon emissions, such as a real-time carbon footprint tracking dashboard, a solar rooftop of over 6,200 m?5, natural lighting systems, zero food waste management, and over 75% recycled construction materials. This project has received multiple environmental awards, including Best Sustainability Initiative (Convention Centre) from the M&C Asia Stella Awards 2023 and ISO 20121.
  • The PARQ?The PARQ employs smart building technology to efficiently reduce energy and carbon use, featuring a high-efficiency Chiller Plant, electronically commutated fans for air conditioning, insulating glass that blocks up to 75% of heat entering the building, and smart sensors controlling lighting automatically.
