Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs presides over an evening function in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's 81st Birthday Anniversary

On 6 August 2013, in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 81st Birthday Anniversary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a special performance by the Rattanakosin Symphony Orchestra and an exhibition on Her Majesty’s work on protecting forests and watershed areas at the Ministry’s Vithes Samosorn Hall. Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the evening and welcomed approximately 300 guests from the diplomatic corps, international organizations, foreign chambers of commerce, and the public and private sectors.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Surapong paid tribute to Her Majesty’s lifetime devotion to improving the well-being of the Thai people, highlighting Her Majesty’s initiatives on environmental protection and reforestation. To commemorate Her Majesty’s significant role in the conservation of forests, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had organized a tree-planting by the diplomatic corps on 24 July 2013 at the International Garden, Benjakiti Park.

On 5 August 2013, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a pre-function event for 250 students, who were given a tour of the Ministry and the exhibition areas before attending a rehearsal by the Rattanakosin Symphony Orchestra.
