On 2 June 2009, Ms. Chompoonute Nakornthap, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the mourning ceremony for the late H.E. Mr. Radu Gabriel Mateescu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Thailand, at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
The late Ambassador Mateescu assumed his post in Thailand since 31 October 2006. During his stay in Thailand, he had built on the cordial friendship and cooperation between the two countries and contributed to their excellent relations.
