Message from the Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Bhutan to Thailand
on the occasion of the 108 th National Day of Bhutan on 17 th December 2015
On behalf of the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Royal Bhutanese Embassy, I have the honour of conveying our warm felicitations and greetings to all Bhutanese living in Thailand on the auspicious occasion of 108 National th Day of Bhutan. On this day, we would like to express our deep appreciation to His Majesty the King of Thailand and the Royal Thai Government for the support, understanding and cooperation extended to the Royal Government of Bhutan. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the friendly people of Thailand for their warmth,hospitality and cooperation extended to the Bhutanese people at large.
Bhutan and Thailand are bound by so many similarities emanating from the close bond between the two Royal Families predating the establishment of diplomatic relations in November 1989.From the land of happiness to the land of smiles, from Gross National Happiness to the Sufficiency Economy promulgated by the wise Monarchs, a shared spiritual heritage, and the peace, progress and stability that we enjoy under the leadership of His Majesty the Kings are all our common strengths that binds us together for our enduring ties of goodwill and growing cooperation. We are confident that our friendly relations and bilateral cooperation with Thailand will grow from strength to strength.
This year's National Day is special as we commemorate the 60 Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth King,th the father of democratic Bhutan. We, the Bhutanese owe a special tribute to His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck,for his selfless service to his people during his 34 years of glorious reign and bringing about unprecedented change and development in Bhutan. Bhutan celebrated His Majesty's 60 Birth Anniversary on November 11,2015 and the Royal th Bhutanese Embassy in Bangkok had the privilege and honour of celebrating the historic event with participation of all Bhutanese community in Thailand.
Relation between Bhutan and Thailand are indeed vibrant with prospects for further growth in the years to come. I assure you that it remains our keen desire to deepen the scope and the spirit of our friendship and cooperation with Thailand.
