Siam Commercial Bank PCL (SCB) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) are organizing a third “SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Fair” to boost Thai manufacturers' sales by offering quality products from over 140 brands, with discounts of up to 70%.
Commenting on the fair, SCB Senior Executive Vice President Sirichai Sombutsiri remarked, “The third SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Fair is a result of cooperation between SCB and FTI to support Thai manufacturers' strong growth by boosting their sales and inventory management. This is a direct-to-consumer fair where consumers can find quality products and good deals from leading brands. Since the fairs held twice last year successfully generated sales of 20 million baht for participating manufacturers, SCB and FTI plan to continue holding similar fairs twice a year, and we project sales of more than 15 million baht for this third fair alone.”
FTI Chairman Payungsak Chatsuthipol noted that, “The growth of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) is an important mechanism in driving the Thai economy to strong growth. Globalization and economic volatility have resulted in severe trade competition. SME operators therefore need a trade strategy and more proactive investment, such as sales promotion, development of appropriate distribution channels, brand building, and new markets, etc.”
"Amid the current economic situation, promoting SMEs is crucial. Realizing the importance of this issue, FTI and SCB have organized the SCB SME - FTI Factory Outlet fairs to help operators save inventory costs and boost their liquidity. We offer an alternative distribution channel to boost their domestic sales. Participating SMEs at the fairs are a mix of FTI members and SCB SME clients nationwide," Payungsak added.
The third SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Fair offers a wide range of products with discounts up to 70%, including electrical and home appliances, furniture and decorations, leather ware, ceramics and plastics, textiles and clothes, jewelry and accessories. The fair runs from 27 September — 1 October 2010, 10.00 am — 7.00 pm at Mahisorn Hall located in the SCB Head Office.
