Philips Electronics (Thailand) Ltd’s Consumer Lifestyle Sector, unveils its new marketing campaign “Philips Sustainable Home Living” and introduces a range of advanced green product together with a comprehensive promotion plans aiming to encourage Thai consumers to switch to Philips green products to save energy, reduce global warming and environmental impact.
Mr.Istvan Kuti, General Manager of Consumer Lifestyle Sector, Philips Electronics (Thailand) Ltd., said that “For Philips, Sustainability is an integral part of our strategy, Philips Sustainable Home Living” campaign launched in Thailand, a part of our effort to promote sustainability, aims to encourage Thai consumers to switch to use Philips green products (consumer electronics and domestic appliances) to help decrease energy consumption, save electricity cost and reduce environmental impact without compromising on its performance to improve their health and well-being. This campaign will be our key strategy to penetrate Thai market in the fourth quarter of this year.”
Reducing Environmental Impact through Philips Consumer Lifestyle green product.
Philips Green Products can reduce costs, energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The product creation through EcoDesign process is based on six Philips Green Focal Area; Energy Efficiency, Packaging, Hazardous Substances, Weight, Recycling and Disposal and Lifetime Reliability.
Philips green products offer customer, users and society a significant environmental improvement - at least 10% - in one or more of the Philips Green Focal Areas. Plus, Philips helps make those choices easier when consumers shop thanks to the Philips Green logo, which will clearly identify products that have a significantly better environmental performance than their competitors or predecessors
Under this campaign, Philips introduces around 50 Consumer Lifestyle green products including LCD/LED TV, Home Theatre, Blu-ray player, DVD player, domestic appliances, personal care, health and wellness and accessories.
Philips green product examples include LCD/LED TV that reduce the energy consumption in the standby power to lower than one watt. Philips is given the “Standby Power 1 watt” label from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
Philips audio and video players especially hi-end models which are Home Theatre HTS9520 is up to 24% more energy efficient, and has 85% lower packaging volume and 56% lower product weight while Philips BDP9500 is up to 15% more energy efficient, and has 44% lower packaging volume and 58% lower product weight.
Notebook USB speakers SPA2210 uses 95% less energy and are 30% lighter.
The powerful EnergyCare Steam Iron uses 20% less energy, without affecting performance. An innovative feature called Automatic Energy Saving has been added to the iron, limiting the wasted steam automatically, but ensuring you always have the right amount of steam for an optimal result
Philips shaver, SensoTouch 3D delivers Philips’ most advanced shave yet. It’s also better for the environment, with an innovative powerplug that reduces energy consumption by over 10%, and packaging that reduces environmental impact by more than 50%.
Consumer promotion program under Philips Sustainable Home Living campaign.
Mr. Kuti said that “Philips has set a comprehensive marketing plan to promote this campaign nationwide to reach all targeted group. The program will run from 24th September — 31th December 2010. Philips aims to educate consumers on the benefit of using green products at sales areas together with implementing the in-store promotion program to encourage Thai consumers to use Philips green products.

Philips gives 2,000 Baht discount to consumers for trading in DVD player for Philips Blu-ray BDP 7500B2. Consumers pay only 11,990 Baht, originally priced at 13,990 Baht. Philips gives 2,000 Baht discount to consumers for trading in DVD player for Philips Home Theatre HTS5520. Consumers pay only 11,990 Baht, originally priced at 13,990 Baht. Philips gives 300 Baht discount to consumers for trading in iron for EnergyCare GC3630 and GC3660. Consumers pay only 3,190 Baht for GC3630, originally priced at 3,490 Baht and 3,690 Baht for GC3660, originally priced at 3,990 Baht.
For consumers who participate in the trade-in program will automatically be part in our CSR
project as Philips will donate the traded-in products to the technical schools in order for them to learn and practice more on their repairing and fixing skills which is another way to reduce waste and environmental impact.
