Asia's latest corporate event venue — the Phuket International Academy Sports & Leisure Club (PIASLC) — is offering qualified sporting event planners and tour operators attending the IT&CMA show the chance to be invited to the complex for familiarisation meetings with the academy's executives and to view the facility.

Due to open for MICE groups in May 2011, the USD60 million complex set on 54 acres of land in the north-eastern region of Phuket, Thailand boasts an extensive array of sporting facilities including an International Rugby Board-standard rugby pitch, FIFA-approved soccer field, a 50-metre swimming pool, a tennis academy with four covered courts, an athletics running track and a 1,000 square metre equipped hi-tech gymnasium. Thanyapura Hospitality Group's Vice President of Operations, David Roberts, said IT&CMA was the first regional MICE event the club has attended to present facilities to event planners and ensure they have access to the complex.
He added that any events booked during IT&CMA would also receive a full 15% discount for all their food and beverage requirements.
