The search is on again to find Thailand’s most promising Young Artist.
The Royal Over-Seas League “Young Artist of Thailand” competition, now in its fourth year, has been a magnet for hundreds of aspiring young artists throughout Thailand.
The first prize of prize of 100,000 bt, a return trip for two to the UK and free accommodation at Overseas House in London has proven a compelling drawcard for some of Thailand’s finest talent. In addition, a special exhibition featuring the work of the finalists is also held at Overseas House, providing all finalists with international exposure to their work.
This year the competition has been bolstered through the support of Jet Airways which has joined other sponsors and the Royal Over-Seas League Council to become the official ‘Airline Partner’.for the competition.
“We are delighted to have Jet Airways join our valued sponsors as the official ‘Airline Partner’ for this prestigious competition,” said Council Chairman Mr Jim Napier. Commenting on the sponsorship announcement, Regional Manager for Jet Airways in Thailand and Malaysia, Mr Anindam Choudhury said Jet Airways was proud to be the official airline partner for the ‘Young Artist of Thailand’ competition.
“We share the commitment of the Royal Overseas League in promoting young talent in Thailand,” said Mr Choudhury. “The opportunity to exhibit their work in Over-Seas House in central London, next to St. James’ Park, provides a truly international stage for Thailand’s most talented young artists.”

Entries in the Young Artist of Thailand Competition are open to anyone 14 — 20 years of age who has been living in Thailand for at least one year. Contestants can submit one piece of two-dimensional hanging art. The work must be original and must not have received an award in any other national art competition.
An exhibition of the works of the semi-finalists will be held at the Sukhothai Hotel, Bangkok, from Monday 15 November to Friday 19 November. A special presentation function will be held at the hotel on Saturday 20 November with the 12 finalists being introduced. The climax of the function will be the announcement of the 2010 Young Artist of Thailand.

About the Royal Over-Seas League:
The Royal Over-Seas League is a self-funded, non-profit making Commonwealth organisation, headquartered in London, which offers clubhouse facilities to members, organises Commonwealth art and music competitions and develops joint welfare projects with specific countries.
Today, the league has 23 branches, as well as reciprocal Clubs and representatives in 78 countries, and has a worldwide membership of 20,000.
Royal Over-Seas League Thailand (ROSLT) was formally inaugurated on the 14 November 2005, as ROSL in London celebrated its 95th anniversary.
