Fitch Ratings today announced it has appointed Karen Skinner to lead its newly created global Research Strategy Group, effective immediately. The group reports to Peter Jordan, Head of Global Business Management for Fitch. The Research Strategy Group will lead a global effort to optimise Fitch's research and ensure it continuously meets the needs of the market. The group's mandate includes analysing and recommending enhancements to the content, format and delivery of Fitch research that reflect the evolving ways in which our users consume content.
"Fitch is continuously focused on the rigour, clarity, and insightfulness of its research, ratings and analysis. The Research Strategy Group will examine our content from inception to delivery, all with a view towards making Fitch's insights as compelling and actionable as possible," Mr. Jordan said.
Ms. Skinner, Managing Director, is based in London. She was previously Head of Business & Relationship Management for Structured Finance and Covered Bonds for Fitch in EMEA, having previously run the agency's Corporate Finance Business Development team in the region. Ms. Skinner joined Fitch in 2000 from Schroders' Financial Markets Division.
Philip Walsh, Managing Director, has replaced Ms. Skinner as Head of Business & Relationship Management for Structured Finance and Covered Bonds for Fitch in EMEA. Mr. Walsh was previously Head of CMBS for EMEA at Fitch; he joined the agency in 2002 and has held a number of senior roles across all structured finance asset classes. Prior to joining Fitch, Philip spent 20 years in the debt capital markets working for a variety of banks, focusing exclusively on structured finance from 1990 onwards.
