The SAIC-GM Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai welcomed its 2 millionth visitor. Chen Jinhua of Huaian, Jiangsu, was presented a set of models of the vehicles featured at the pavilion. He also rode in the futuristic vehicles on the main stage during a personal tour of the pavilion with his family.
Since May 1, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. and General Motors, the joint automobile partner of Expo 2010 — have been introducing to visitors from around the globe their vision of sustainable urban transportation in 2030 as well as some of their solutions for making the vision reality.
Chen said he visited the SAIC-GM Pavilion because he had heard from others that it was a “must-see” at Expo 2010. After riding in the zero-emission YeZ and EN-V electric concept vehicles, he commented: “These vehicles could solve many transportation problems such as pollution and traffic accidents. I hope urban transportation in 2030 will be as perfect as the vision at the SAIC-GM Pavilion.
