The floods raging through several provinces in Thailand at this moment have affected thousands of families. TMB Bank is joining the flood relief efforts by sending staff of branches located in the affected areas to distribute food and supplies to residents as an emergency relief measure. The Bank has also donated THB 1 million to support the ongoing relief efforts of the Rajaprachanukroh Foundation under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, Mr. Boontuck Wungcharoen, TMB Chief Executive Officer, said.
Mr. Boontuck said the TMB is concerned about how much the flooding has impacted local businesses and residents, including TMB employees, in the areas. “This is one of the worst floods people in the Northeast have experienced in 50 years. It is a tough time and we want to ensure the people, who are facing difficulty, get the support they need. We are also considering appropriate options to provide some relief for individual and business customers affected by the flooding to get back on their feet as soon as possible. The assistance package could include loan tenor extension and waiver on fees & penalties charge for delayed payment. The Bank will announce the detailed package activation early next week.”
In addition, TMB has opened an account to help collect funds for to assist flood victims. A small contribution from each person can make a big difference in this initiative. Those who are interested to help out can deposit cash donations into the TMB Bank’s Phahonyothin branch’s savings account “TMB for Flood Relief”, number 001-9-09343-4. Inter-region money transfers at TMB Bank counter to this account is exempted from fee. The collected funds will be transferred to trusted organizations in Thailand for the benefit of the flood victims.
