The Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province and Worldex GEC China Co Ltd are together organising the Guangdong Products Show 2010, an exposition featuring a wide variety of quality products from more than 200 suppliers in Guangdong.
The show will be at Challenger Hall 3, Impact Muang Thong Thani from November 23 to 25, 2010, 10.00 am to 6.30 pm. Consumer electronics, household appliances, furniture, lighting and toys will be on display, as well as spare parts and accessories for cars and motorbikes.
Mr. Zhang Peng, Deputy Director Foreign Trade Development Division, Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province (DOFTEC), said that the Guangdong Products Show will demonstrate to Thai business people and the wider public Guangdong’s expertise in manufacturing and developing a diversity of products, including technological items that are unique in design, quality, diversity and utility. The show will also be an arena for business negotiation between Thai and Chinese entrepreneurs to promote trade between the two countries.
Guangdong is the first province which implemented the “Reform and Opening-up policy” in China. It is also the first province in China, which formally signed the memorandum of cooperation with ASEAN.
“With an annual trade value of more than US$13 billion, Thailand is one of Guangdong’s 10 top trading partners,” said Mr. Zhang
“The expo will be a channel for Chinese manufacturers to expand their market and present their latest developments, while at the same time providing an opportunity for the Thais to explore our quality products for business and household requirements.”
Mr. Wolfgang Qi, Managing Director, Worldex G.E.C. China said that all the exhibitors are those of the best companies in Guangdong province, and also the pioneers of their industries. There will be more than 6,000 professional buyers and public citizens to visit the fair. It is hoped that Guangdong Products Show at Bangkok can effectively improve the trade between China and Thailand as well as ASEAN.
“We are determined to bring the best products, which are most suitable and demanded for ASEAN and Thailand in the fair, as well as our passion on communication with professionals of Thailand”, said Mr. Qi
Products exhibited on an area of more than 4,000 square metres include household appliances, computers and electronic equipment, home and office furnishings, lamps and lighting systems, toys, and automobile and motorcycle components and accessories. There will also be seminars on how to do business with the Chinese effectively to exchange professional information and experience on trading with our Guangdong companies. The rules and noticeable points of import and export will also be discussed in the seminars. Direct negotiation on trade is also recommended in seminars between Thai buyers and Guangdong enterprises.
Ms. Supawan Teerarat of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), said that the Guangdong Products Show 2010 would not only benefit Thai-Chinese trade, but also generate more income for Thailand. In 2009, Thailand’s revenue from imported exhibitions and foreign visitors was more than 8.5 billion baht.
“Guangdong is one of China’s most important manufacturing regions and a major market for Thai goods,” she said. “At this exhibition, Thai companies will learn more about investment opportunities in Guangdong. Those with high growth potential include beauty services and spas, Thai restaurants, exporters of Thai fruit products. Significantly, they will get the opportunities to build up partnership with the Guangdong enterprises of electrical products, furniture, lighting, toys, and auto parts”.
Guangdong is the province with the most advanced economy in China. It has three special economic zones, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Shantou, and a major international exhibition, the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), is held there in two editions every year. Its capital city, Guangzhou, has China’s third biggest economy after Shanghai and Beijing. It was the host of the 16th Asian Games from November 12-27 this year, and is also a centre for exhibitions, with at least 60 taking place annually.
