Scania Siam Co, Ltd announced the historic tournament Scania Driver Competitions 2010, which is held for the first time in Thailand. The 10 qualified drivers are to compete on the bus and truck competition, to be the best and most professional one in Saturday November 13 this year.
Mr. Phuriwat Rak-Intr, General Manager, Scania Siam Co., Ltd. said Scania pleased to welcome all of you to experience this historic tournament -Scania Driver competitions 2010, one of the world 's major tournament , to be held in Thailand for this first time. Today 10 finalists selects from the total of 70, which is beyond our projection.
“The main objective of the competition is to stimulate and enhanced the skill for drivers as same as encourage them to take part in drive-safely campaign. The competition will educate the contestants to aware on their carrier -as the high responsibility work, no matter what kind of vehicle they drive, which Scania has long been aware one this objective. The competition will not be success, without the collaboration of our partners namely BP-Castrol (Thailand) Co., Ltd, Siam Michelin Co., Ltd, Department of Transportation, and Drive-Responsibly Foundation” said Mr. Puriwat.
The competition divided into Track for 5 passengers and bus for 5 passengers. In the final round, the contestants need to test on basic and driving skill -of which Scania apply from European competition standard. The drivers need to show off the driving -safely skill in each bases including the energy-saving tips. The competition's venue will be divided into two main zones. The first one in Scania 's center , divided into 3 big zones and 8 sub- bases. And the competition on Bangna-Trad road, starting from Scania's center back and forth - totaling 20 kilometers. The judges are from the leading parties namely PTT, Exploring Plc, BP-Castrol Co, Ltd and Siam Michelin Co., Ltd,

Scania hold the world class competition Scania Driver Competitions for this first time in 2003 in the continent. The competition widen to 28 countries worldwide and nearly 45,000 drivers are expected to join the competition, with the philosophy to enriches the driving skill including encourage the responsible of the drivers as same as develop the safe-driving with less effect to environment.
